Good to know
Estimates, not guarantees.
These results come from the numbers you enter. The biggest factor in real results is the offer on the piece, and no calculator can measure that.
Net profit and break-even use your profit margin, not the full job price. Enter the margin you actually earn. A higher number makes every result look better than it is.
Questions
Common questions
Is the postage rate current?
Yes. The calculator uses the EDDM Retail rate of $0.260 per piece, effective July 12, 2026. It is the same for every EDDM size up to 3.3 ounces.
What response rate should I use?
We plan neighborhood mail at 0.5% to 1%, which is 5 to 10 responses per 1,000 homes. Higher numbers you may see published often come from mailing past customers.
What is a break-even response rate?
The share of homes that need to respond for the mailing to pay for itself. If it is well under 1%, the plan has room for error. If it is over 2%, change the offer, the area, or the piece before you mail.
Can I mail part of a route?
No. EDDM delivers to every address on a route. The calculator estimates routes at about 450 homes each, and we confirm exact counts from USPS before you order.
